INTODUCTION : La rougeole est une maladie contagieuse, avec un risque de complications graves, pouvant être éradiquée en France avec une couverture vaccinale de 95 % pour la première dose et 80 % pour la seconde. Cependant, malgré l'épidémie récente responsable de dix décès, celle-ci reste insuffisante notamment dans le Sud de la France. L'objectif principal était de cibler les facteurs responsables de cette mauvaise couverture vaccinale. METHODE : Deux études qualitatives par entretiens semi-structurés ont été réalisées entre mars et septembre 2013 dans les Bouches-du-Rhône. L'étude 1 auprès de douze parents réticentes au vaccin et l'étude 2 auprès de onze médecins généralistes. RESULATS : Dans l'étude 1, les facteurs responsables d'une mauvaise couverture vaccinale contre la rougeole sont une mauvaise connaissance de la rougeole et de ses complications, une préférence pour l'immunité naturelle, une représentation du vaccin jugé inutile, dangereux et peu efficace, une influence majeur du médecin non vaccinateur choisi par les familles, la théorie du complot selon laquelle il existe un conflit d'intérêt entre les autorités sanitaires et l'industrie pharmaceutique et la mauvaise image des vaccins véhiculés par les médias. Les facteurs identifiés dans l'étude 2, sont le statut facultatif du vaccin, l’influence d'un médecin non vaccinateur notamment le médecin homéopathe, l'impact des médias que ce soit dans le manque de promotion ou par l'image négative véhiculée de certains vaccins, la négligence des familles ou du médecin, et la représentation négative du vaccin par les familles [...]

This book examines deformative transparency and its different manifestations in political communication, propaganda and public health. The objective is to present the theoretical foundations of deformative transparency, as grotesque and esperpentic transparency, and illustrate the validity of such approach to understand the strategic and ethical implications of the proactive disclosure of the "shocking", "ugly" or "outside the norm". Four areas are discussed: political communication with particular focus on populist politicians as the deceased Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez, the campaign and presidency of Donald Trump, and the tenure in office of the mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford; propaganda strategies of Islamist terrorist organizations such as the Islamic State’s escalation of the visually horrific; and public health campaigns that use "disturbing images" to promote public awareness and eventually influence behavioural change.
