The sound of this letter is not to be found in the English language it resembles somewhat the u in fur. To form it, the pupil should first pronounce a very long 0, (this will indicate the position of the organs) and then, without altering this position, try to pronounce the German c (ey in obey). This will produce the long sound. To produce the short sound, place the organs in the same position and try to pro nounce ep, at, ef, eclc, el, em, en, err, ess.
