Relatively harder and high production potential silkworms suitable to different ecological domains are necessary for sericulture enterprise, a farm based labor intensive agro-enterprise. The climatic data proves that mid-hill has favorable agro-eco-climate for mulberry based bivoltine sericulture. This book explores the adaptability of bivoltine silkworm pure breed and hybrid genotypes to different ecological domains through different experiments including seven ecological domains, two pure breeds and five hybrids. Based on performance through multi-location testing over years, the book finish off the suitable ecological domains for pure breeds (J12 and C12) as Pokhara and Dhunibesi, while for hybrids as Khopasi and Pokhara (J12xC12) and Dhunibesi (N109xN112). The book recommends focusing future research and development in this discipline to concentrate seed cocoon production on highly productive and low mortality ecological domains and assess best performing silkworm hybrids for quality cocoon with better economic returns. Mulberry (Morus spp.) is an important horticultural plant in the sericulture industry. It belongs to the family Moraceae. The leaf of mulberry is used to feed the silkworm Bombyx mori L. It is also used as a fodder. Due to its economic and agricultural importance, mulberry is cultivated in many parts of the world. An estimated 60% of the total cost of silk cocoon production is for production and maintenance of mulberry plants. Therefore, much attention is needed to improve the quality and quantity of mulberry leaves. It is vital to increase the production of superior quality mulberry leaves with high nutritive value for the sericulture industry. Although a lot of research is going on in mulberry, very little effort has been made to compile the results of this research in a single book. This book provides an update of recent research works going on in this plant.
