It was erected between 1694 and 1702, on ground belonging to the ancient archiepiscopal palace of St. Sepulchre's, by Narcissus Marsh, who was translated from Dublin to Armagh in the latter year; from this circumstance it has been often spoken of as the Library of St. Sepulchre's.
