Book Description
Excerpt from Supplement to Ames' and Smith's Cases on Torts With two exceptions all the cases in this Supplement were decided since the publication of Ames & Smith's Cases on Torts. The first part (pages 1 to 138) consists mainly of cases bearing on "Labor Litigation"; to be studied in connection with chapters V. and VIII., vol. 1, Ames & Smith. To these have been added (pages 139 to 165) a few cases on other topics. Three of these later cases, Spade v. L. & B. R. Co., Dulieu v. White, and Wilkinson v. Downton, may be used after Victorian R. Com'rs v. Coultas, 1 Ames & Smith, 16. The case of Buch v. Amory Mfg. Co. may be used after Keffe v. R. R., 2 Ames & Smith, 279. The remaining cases, Roberts v. Harrison, Middlesex Company v. McCue, and Rindge v. Sargent, relate to the liability of a landowner when the condition of his land, or his mode of using it, is alleged to have caused damage to his neighbor.
