Book Description
Airedale terriers, also known as "Airedales," originated from the Yorkshire region of England. The Airedales belong to the class of dogs called the terriers, and the Airedale has been nicknamed the "King of Terriers." The nickname was given to the Airedale, because it is the largest canine in the terrier class. The Airedale weighs approximately 55 to 65 pounds, and grows to be about two feet tall. Airedales have medium-length black and tan coats, with a wiry topcoat that feels soft and fluffy underneath. The coat covering the back and legs appears curly and stiff, and must be regularly groomed. The Airedale does not shed much, if any, fur. Many Airedales have a surgical procedure done shortly after birth, called docking. The term docking means shortening the tail of the canine, which makes the tail stiff and stand at attention.

EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK Although Siberian Huskies may look intimidating to people and other dogs, don't let their powerful appearance deceive you. These dogs are friendly and affectionate as can be. Those who find the appearance of a Siberian Husky intimidating should consider what the Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club has to say about the breed: His rugged endurance, stamina and untiring energy have led to the misconception that the Siberian is a fierce, belligerent animal. Nothing could be more untrue. A Siberian will pull in harness until he drops in the traces. He will vehemently argue the view that only small breeds should be lap dogs. He thrives on affection and returns it doubled. When raised from a pup with a child, a safer, more friendly and faithful companion could not be found. Siberians are incredibly social and don't fare well being left alone for long periods of time. If you work all day and dont have another pet, your dog will get lonely and lonely and may indulge in destructive behavior. Book Description
ABOUT THE BOOK Bernese Mountain Dogs are large dogs with strong, sturdy figures and gleaming coats. Although theyre classed as working dogs, their gentle temperament combined with their loyal and affectionate nature make them excellent companion pets. According to Dog Training Central, it's generally believed that the breed developed from the Mastiff-type dogs introduced to Switzerland by the Romans. They were primarily used as working farm dogs until the beginning of the 20th century, when a decline in their numbers inspired Swiss farmers from the hamlet of Bern to resuscitate the breed. They were introduced to the United States by Isaac Scheiss in 1926 and were officially recognized by the American Kennel Club until 1937.
