He married Juliana Sophia Schwartz (1711-ca. 1787), a daughter of Peter Schwartz and Susanna Barbara Bernhardt, in 1732. They had seven children. The family immigrated to America before 1741, settling in Pennsylvania. Most descendants live in Ohio and surrounding states.
