The data for this field project was taken from the school social worker's records. Data collected showed that there were 3,395 secondary school dropouts in Dougherty County schools during 1975-1980. Indifference was the single most significant reason for leaving schools. More blacks than whites dropped out. Data showed more black males dropping out that any other single group. White females composed the least number of dropouts.
