Justus Johann Friedrich Dotzauer (1783-1860) performed as a cellist with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and later in the orchestra of the Dresden Staatskappelle where he played in the premieres of Wagner's operas Rienzi and The Flying Dutchman.
