Book Description
It all started when I started school grade one, when my teacher tied me to a chair. From there, my life was hard. I was bullied right through my school days, made fun of, and teased. It was really hard for me as a child. I am still trying to work out why do children do it? Don't they see what they are doing is really breaking children down in spirit and in life? This book shows how I dealt with it every day. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that life would be easy. I met so many people who went through what I went through. Everyone deals with it in a different way. I concentrated on the word of God. I was talking to a teenager one day, and she had so many problems. That's when I decided to change my poetry book to a fifty-day diary to help people overcome the obstacles in their life. By writing this book, I hope people will see what they missed in life. By casting all your burdens on to God, you will be healed. It is not an easy road to walk, and it never will be. But with God by your side, you will make it. I also did some research and found that not a lot of people can concentrate for long on something. That's why I only made it fifty days. So that people can take time out afterwards and think about the path they walked alone, without God by their side. My aim in writing this book is that people would see that with God by their side, anything is possible and that they can overcome the biggest obstacle in life and that nothing can hold them back.

Book Description
In America's Jubilee distinguished historian Andrew Burstein presents an engrossing narrative that takes us back to a pivotal year in American history, 1826, when the reins of democracy were being passed from the last Revolutionary War heroes to a new generation of leaders. Through brilliant sketches of selected individuals and events, Burstein creates an evocative portrait of the hopes and fears of Americans fifty years after the Revolution. We follow an aged Marquis de Lafayette on his triumphant tour of the country; and learn of the nearly simultaneous deaths of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson on the 4th of July. We meet the ornery President John Quincy Adams, the controversial Secretary of State Henry Clay, and the notorious hot-tempered General Andrew Jackson. We also see the year through the eyes of a minister's wife, a romantic novelist, and even an intrepid wheel of cheese. Insightful and lively, America's Jubilee captures an unforgettable time in the republic’s history, when a generation embraced the legacy of its predecessors and sought to enlarge its role in America’s story.

Book Description
Season of Ash and Fire will help pastors and worship planners prepare for Lent and Easter. The author provides corporate prayers for each Sunday and Holy Day in the Easter Cycle, including: Ash Wednesday, 1st through 5th Sundays in Lent, Passion/Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday Morning, Easter Evening, 2nd through 7th Sundays of Easter, Ascension Day, and Pentecost. Additional prayers and liturgies for use during the season by small groups and families help extend and unify the congregation’s celebration. "Blair Meeks, gifted with an evangelical heart, an emancipated imagination, and a life settled in liturgy, offers a first rate resource as the church learns again to pray. Meeks not only guides the prayer of the church through the depth of Lent and the wonder of Easter, she also interprets and instructs along the way. Out of her long reflection on the mystery of worship, this book will serve pastors and all those in the church who live by faith that is funded through prayer.” --Walter Brueggemann, Professor Emeritus, Columbia Theological Seminary

Book Description
Philo of Alexandria (20 BCE.--50 CE.) stood at the crossroads of ancient history. Philo was the first pioneer to integrate Judaic thought with the Stoic, Platonic, and Pythagorean philosophical traditions. This Alexandrian Jewish philosopher assembled the very first philosophical, ethical, psychological, exegetical, and theological commentary on the Torah. As his community’s most prestigious Jewish leader, he defended Alexandrian Jews from the attacks of anti-Semites, and met with the capricious Roman Emperor Caligula, calling upon him to respect the ethical monotheistic beliefs of the Jewish people. As with Josephus, Philo bears witness to the world’s first protomodern and intellectual Jewish community of Alexandria, the cultural center of Late Antiquity. Reclaiming Philo as a Jewish exegete puts him in company with other great luminaries of Jewish history. Rabbi Michael Leo Samuel has meticulously culled from all of Philo’s exegetical remarks, arranging them according to the biblical verses. He provides extensive parallels from the corpus of rabbinical literature, Greek philosophy, and Christian theology in presenting how Philo impacted the great minds of Late Antiquity and beyond. Keywords: Torah Commentary, Jewish Philosophy, Ancient Jewish Thought, 1st Century Judaism, Hellenism and Judaism, Alexandria, Philo of Alexandria, Rabbi, Samuel

Book Description
Doom, gloom, tribulation, apocalypse, Armageddon, 2012, plaques, earthquakes, wars, rumours of wars these have all become synonymous with what we call the end-times. Is this really the end that the creator of heaven and earth had in mind when He created all things? Did He fail in His original plan? Has He lost his grip on creation? Is He still in control? How did He plan to end what He started? Will there be a "rapture"? Will there be great tribulation? Will it end in war and ruins? Or does the God of the universe have a far greater plan than most men anticipate? Let us travel back in time to the days of Noah and get some insight into God's plans for creation. As He said: "But as THE DAYS OF NOAH were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."
