Book Description
(Black/White/Greyscale Edition) "If you don't like the weather in Ohio, just wait ten minutes." Weather is the one thing we all have in common. We all have to contend with that stuff churning around in the atmosphere. But what causes that weather? What forces are at work? Why does it happen when, where, and how it does? And can we actually predict what's going to happen in Central Ohio? Meteorologist Marshall McPeek takes us on a Central Ohio weather adventure to show us how the weather works and how we can prepare for what comes our way. The weather influences what we wear, how we behave, even what we talk about at chatty dinner parties. It's usually just part of the background in our busy, daily routines, but every now and then, Mother Nature makes a big fuss to make sure we're respectful. The weather is fascinating! Once we understand how difficult it is to create a single raindrop, we're blown away by the incredible power of our atmosphere!

Book Description
Urban transportation problems abound across America, including jammed highways during rush-hours, deteriorating bus service, and strong pressures to build new rail systems. Most solutions attempt either to increase transportation capacity (by building more roads and expanding mass transit) or to manage existing capacity (through HOV restrictions, exclusive bus lanes, and employer-based policies such as flexible work hours). This book develops an alternative solution to urban transportation problems based on economic analysis, but well aware of the political constraints on policymakers. The authors estimate that efficient pricing and service policies could save more than $10 billion in annual net benefits over current practices, but argue that powerful, entrenched political and institutional forces will continue to thwart efficient economic solutions to improve urban transportation. They believe, however, that some form of privatization would likely improve social welfare more than an efficient public sector system. Facing fewer operating restrictions, greater economic incentives, and stronger competitive pressures, private suppliers could substantially improve the efficiency of urban operations and offer services that are more responsive to the needs of all types of travelers. The authors conclude that policymakers have bestowed huge benefits on the public by allowing the private sector to play a leading and unencumbered role in the provision of intercity transportation. Public officials should take the next step and allow the private sector to play a leading role in the provision of urban transportation.

Or could these ten minutes be part of a more comprehensive plan for personal and global revolution? Could ten minutes be a mustard seed that God grows into something amazing? Pastor and author Chris Altrock believes it can! Rather than complain about ten minutes being too insignificant for spiritual growth, Altrock teaches practices to maximize that time for personal transformation and real social change. In only ten minutes a day over forty days, you'll learn a dozen spiritual disciplines to deepen your relationship with God. You'll also learn and see how God can use even the smallest amounts of time to change you and the world through your actions. Are you ready for ten minutes to actually make a difference?
