Book Description
ON PEUT CONCEVOIR L'EFFICACITE DES POLITIQUES DE REMUNERATION COMME ETANT LA CONSEQUENCE D'UN ALIGNEMENT DES CHOIX OPERES SUR LES AUTRES VARIABLES DE GESTION. A PARTIR DE DONNEES COLLECTEES AUPRES DE 602 GRANDES ENTREPRISES DE TROIS PAYS (ANGLETERRE, FRANCE, CANADA) LA RECHERCHE PRESENTEE ICI MET EN EVIDENCE QUE L'EXISTENCE D'UN ALIGNEMENT DES POLITIQUES DE REMUNERATION ENTRE ELLES (CONTINGENCE REMUNERATION) DONNE UNE PLUS GRANDE PERCEPTION D'EFFICACITE AUX DRH QUE LES ALIGNEMENTS AVEC LES AUTRES VARIABLES DE GESTION (CONTINGENCE ORGANISATIONNELLE ET VERTICALE). CEPENDANT, LA CONTINGENCE DES PRATIQUES DE GESTION NE SERAIT PAS UNE CONDITION SINE QUA NON A LEUR EFFICACITE . EN EFFET, NOTRE RECHERCHE EMPIRIQUE MONTRE QU'IL EXISTE DES POLITIQUES QUI, QUEL QUE SOIT LE CONTEXTE ORGANISATIONNEL,ONT UN IMPACT POSITIF SUR LA PERCEPTION D'EFFICACITE. C'EST LE CAS, EN PARTICULIER DES POLITIQUES ORIENTEES VERS LA PERFORMANCE INDIVIDUELLE, L'OCTROIE DE BONIS ET LA TRANSPARENCE DES INFORMATIONS SALARIALES.

Book Description
`Gerhart and Rynes provide a thorough, comprehensive review of the vast literatures relevant to compensation. Their insights regarding the integration of economic, psychological and management perspectives are particularly enlightening. This text provides an invaluable tool for those interested in advancing our understanding of compensation practices' - Alison Barber, Eli Broad College of Business, Michigan State UniversityCompensation provides a comprehensive, research-based review of both the determinants and effects of compensation. Combining theory and research from a variety of disciplines, authors Barry Gerhart and Sara Rynes examine the three major compensation decisions - pay level, pay structure and pay delivery systems.Revealing the impact of different compensation policies, this interdisciplinary volume examines: the relationship between performance-based pay and intrinsic motivation; implications of individual pay differentials for team or unit performance; the consequences of pay for performance policies; effect sizes and practical significance of compensation findings; and directions for future research.Compensation considers why organizations pay people the way they do and how various pay strategies influence the success of organizations. Critically evaluating areas where research is inconsistent with common beliefs, Gerhart and Rynes explore the motivational effects of compensation.Primarily intended for graduate students in human resource management, psychology, and organizational behaviour courses, this book is also an invaluable reference for compensation management consultants and organizational development specialists.

Book Description
Many countries around the world are engaged in decentralization processes, and most African countries face serious problems with forest governance, from benefits sharing to illegality and sustainable forest management. This book summarizes experiences to date on the extent and nature of decentralization and its outcomes - most of which suggest an underperformance of governance reforms - and explores the viability of different governance instruments in the context of weak governance and expanding commercial pressures over forests. Findings are grouped into two thematic areas: decentralization, livelihoods and sustainable forest management; and international trade, finance and forest sector governance reforms. The authors examine diverse forces shaping the forest sector, including the theory and practice of decentralization, usurpation of authority, corruption and illegality, inequitable patterns of benefits capture and expansion of international trade in timber and carbon credits, and discuss related outcomes on livelihoods, forest condition and equity. The book builds on earlier volumes exploring different dimensions of decentralization and perspectives from other world regions, and distills dimensions of forest governance that are both unique to Africa and representative of broader global patterns. The authors ground their analysis in relevant theory while drawing out implications of their findings for policy and practice.
