Book Description
The Farmer’s protest witnessed in the Indian subcontinent shook the foundations of a tyrannical regime reminiscent of ruthless Rulers of yore, possessing searing qualities, spreading violence, attempting to instil dread in every soul, thereby rendering the victims numb with fear and an inability to retort in any manner. Unfettered by the autocratic approach, the grit, determination and unity amongst the righteous farmers threw back the shackles of injustice, brazenly brushed off any fear and reinstated their fight for their Rights. The only difference visible is that Knowledge of law and self-respect have replaced arms and weaponry in this battle, although it was not entirely discarded. The undaunted display of strength and unity by farmers, whose existence was earlier marked by docility, rekindled the Revolutionist within us. A typical day in India is marked by protests and dharnas with social activists voicing their rights, which gradually drowns in the cacophony of political debates, slogans and cannon attacks by the police, who have reduced themselves from being the ‘protectors’ of law to being the ‘puppets’ of the reigning Government. The Farmers protest of 2020 transformed this usual perception, grabbed the attention of every citizen who wilfully would shrug off any controversies by keeping a safe distance from protestors and garnered global attention from celebrities & social activists about the atrocities meted out to them. Every attempt was made to curb the movement including blatant violation of democratic and constitutional rights, betrayal of trusts, unwarranted arrests, which remains unreported till date. This book traces firsthand information of my experiences living with the farmers & their families in the protest camps at the city borders, birth of a conscious citizen, an Observer, a Transformist within me and the tryst with destiny to venture out of the ‘comfort’ zone and enter the ‘courage’ zone to be a part of a historical moment in India and foster the feeling of brotherhood amongst the farmers.

Book Description
Dr. M. P. Ganesh’s autobiography is a must read for all hockey lovers in the country and abroad. His meteoric rise from holding the hockey stick for the first time to rising to dizzy heights. The right winger like none was the Captain of the Indian team in the 1973 World Cup. His is an astounding story which should inspire all and sundry. India lost to Netherlands in that final, missing a penalty stroke in the sudden death period. Had that been scored, India would have won the World Cup for the first time ever. Ganesh’s name would have been etched in gold. But fate willed otherwise. Was there a conspiracy to deny him personal glory and the country the first World Cup? Ganesh has penned down his lucid thoughts and pondered over all the reasons for that defeat. Yet, Ganesh made it to the World XI. He was also part of two Asian Games, two World Cups and one Olympic Games. Invariably, he never returned empty-handed. His tenure as a professional with Italian club Levante HC, his marriage to Prema, whom he had not even seen before it was fixed, his son Ayyappa, his struggles in life, coaching India to the Olympic gold in 1980, becoming a super-efficient sports administrator for 25 years and eventually getting back to where it all began - Kodagu. Ganesh has described all this and more in inimitable fashion.

Book Description
The novel has a mandate that there could be nothing more beautiful than the universal attributes of love, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness, a sisterhood and a brotherhood, understanding and humanitarianism seen through a variety of lenses and perspectives in general and gender in particular. The book carries a genuine message for humanity and the new world that is emerging. "A beautiful piece of writing that touches many issues such as violence; the pitfalls of retributive justice and the scourge of social inequality (all set against a backdrop of India) in a non-pedagogic, story like manner. Unputdownable." Shabnam Hashmi, Social Activist, Founder ANHAD (Act Now for Harmony and Democracy) “I have known Nilanjana Sanyal as a columnist for Tehelka magazines. Ms Sanyal’s new novel "There's Love In Every Heart" reminds me of noted author Francis Bacon who once penned “Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested; that is, some books are to be read only in parts; others to be read, but not curiously; and some few are to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention.” Every word of her novel is to be tasted, swallowed, chewed and digested literally.” Charanjit Ahuja, Editor, Tehelka

Book Description
It docs remind us of our legendary golden sparrow, our original values and lessons that our Gurus, saints and spiritual leaders taught us. It does remind us of barbarians who we abhorred, for they killed civilians, including women and children. Their barbarism enslaved us and snuffed out our conscience. Thus, because of our ego-stricken in righting, we did not come together to push those marauders out of our country. We could also not punish those who took over the reigns from those marauders of yore. The author introduces readers to SaMule, an avatar from Panchatantra or Aesopís Fables (if you allow me to say so). The running commentary of SaMule digs into your sides. So, you laugh to your heart's content! Read Samule's comments carefully, though.

Book Description
Jesuit Father Myron J. Pereira explores subjects mainly related to the Indian Church in this eBook. It consists of 30 articles about the mission of the Church in India, its political and social scenario, lives of the religious and the role of women in the Church. Jesuit Father Myron J. Pereira has spent more than five decades as an academic, journalist, editor and writer of fiction. He contributes regularly to UCA News on religious and socio-cultural topics. This volume consists of selected articles exploring subjects mainly related to the Indian Church. The author examines a concept called “life after life”— our life after death. In another two-part series, he reflects on the influence of early Jesuits in the development of Christian art in India. In the article “Does a black Jesus matter?”, Pereira asks whether our imaginations are so colonized that we think that whatever is white is pure and beautiful and whatever is black becomes ugly and demonic. The author also sheds light on other topics such as the mission of the Church in India, its political and social scenario, persecution, lives of the religious and the role of women in the growth of the Church.
