Sarr, a ville in the cinque-port liberty Of sand wxc it, though locally in the hundred Of Ringslow, or Isle of Thanet, lathe Of st. Auovsta, county Of kent, 83 miles (n. E.) from Canterbury, containing 191 inhabitants. Sabbati', a parish in the hundred of 0118310, or liberty of st. Albans, county Of H satronn, 8; miles (n. W. By N.) from Rickmansworth, containing 397 inhabitants. The living is a Vicarage, in the archdea conry of St. Albans, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £9, and in the patronage of Mrs. Harriet Gordon. The church is dedicated to the Holy Cross it is a cruciform structure, consisting of a nave, chancel, transepts, and a square tower, being built Of a mixture Of brick, stone. And flints: it contains a pis cina beneath an embattled cornice ornamented with roses, and two stone seats. The village is situated on a ridge of land forming the western boundary of a vale watered by a small river, commonly called the Sarret stream. Sarsden, a parish in the hundred of chadling ton, county of Oxronn, 83 miles (s. W. By S.) from Chi pping-norton, containing 128 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £8. 18. And in the patronage Of J. H. Langston, Esq. Ann Walker, in 1705, gave £600, now producing an annual income of £52. For which twenty-four girls are educated.
