Book Description
This book is a compilation of the thoughts of an ordinary man, any subject that comes to mind; and in no particular order. I cover all ideas, from conversations I have had, my reactions to newspapers and other media reports, and virtually everything that I have formed opinions on. With the accusations that Americans are always far left or far right, I wanted to give the opinions of an ordinary man. From this, you decide if an ordinary man leans hard left, hard right, more toward center or maybe is really schizophrenic. Each thought is kept as short as possible in presentation in an attempt to get right to the point and solicit expanded thought from the reader. I wrote this, not to be read as a novel, but to be read whenever there are five minutes available to ponder a new idea.

Publisher: Xlibris Corporation
ISBN: 1453569928
Category : Poetry
Languages : en
Pages : 72
Book Description
Louis Knobel was born in South Africa in 1946. He has been actively involved in nature conservation and has also worked for many years as Consultant for major organizations in various fields, including IT. He has travelled extensively and has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Belgium, France and the United States of America as well as countries in Africa. His interests include conservation, photography, fine arts, hand-crafts and writing. He is a vegetarian and ardent animal lover. This, his debut work has been many years in the making and it covers various stages in the life of one man. Though he sees himself as neither a poet nor a philosopher, this Mensan has a remarkable ability for lateral thinking which brings an uncommon depth to the interpretations he links to everyday events and objects. As a writer, Louis is able to paint clear word pictures and the spiritual depth and vision he portrays, often leaves the reader filled with new insight into otherwise ordinary events. This book has the ingredients of a superb travel companion in which the reader can find subjects ranging from observing an ordinary seashell through to experiencing joy, tears, prayer and love.

ISBN: 9814794538
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 172
Book Description
In a world where so many people believe that they cannot go far because they were not born gifted or with a silver spoon, Mano Sabnani’s story provides profound inspiration – showing how an ordinary man can achieve extraordinary things by following a very simple and ethical set of principles. From greenhorn journalist to Editor of the Business Times, Managing Editor of the Straits Times, CEO/Editor-in-Chief of TODAY, and Managing Director at DBS, Mano enjoyed a front-row seat to the transformation of Singapore since independence and the painful trade-offs that had to be made as it achieved its phenomenal economic success. In this memoir, Mano relates the story of his life, career and family, from an idyllic boyhood in Joo Chiat through to National Service, university days, a shoestring trek through Asia and Europe, marriage and fatherhood, to his role as an “activist investor” speaking up on behalf of ordinary shareholders. Along the way, Mano offers unique stories and special insight into a myriad of topics: friendship, leadership, values, the existence of God, the role of man in nature – and life itself.

An Ordinary Man An Extraordinary God
Author: Dr. Ernest S. Martin
Publisher: Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
ISBN:
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 420
Book Description
After retiring as a veterinarian, the author had much more time to spend with others, so he related stories of many of the experiences in his life. He was asked by family, friends, and others with whom he had shared if he had recorded these stories. Ernest never wanted to write his life story, but God revealed to him that he should record his experiences and title the book An Ordinary Man, An Extraordinary God. His procrastination to write ended when he had a back fusion with two rods and ten screws which required him to lay on a bone stimulator for four hours a day for six months; and during that time, he was not able to do any physical work. The book would show how God could take a country boy raised on a farm and use him to bring glory to God. Explaining how God used him could encourage others who also thought they were "nobodies" to realize that God could use any person that believed in God and spent time in His Word to walk in the Spirit and be led by the Spirit. The book begins just before Ernest received Jesus as his Lord and Savior and continues showing how, through His Word, the author received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, learned to walk in the Spirit, witnessed about God to others, prayed the prayer of faith for healing, cast out demons, and did other works of God. His walk with God and how he grew in faith is shared chronologically in the book. Now he could understand the groaning of the spirit within a Christian for the day of redemption when he would enter God's presence and be with Jesus for eternity.
