The second, sponsored by International Standards Organization Technical Committee 163 on Thermal Insulation, covered guarded hot plate and heat flow meter tests of thermal resistance of thick thermal insulation materials, and was intended to produce calibration and precision and accuracy data for ISO specifications for such tests and those of each of the 22 participating countries--in the United States, ASTM Test for Steady-State Thermal Transmission Properties by Means of the Guarded Hot Plate (C 177) and ASTM Test for Steady-State Thermal Transmission Properties by Means of Heat Flow Meter (C 518).
