Book Description
Alvin Boyd Kuhn was one of the most insightful and controversial writers to have ever lived. His works have been praised as some of the greatest written in the 20th Century, but other devout authorities have vilified him. The main thrust of his work is showing how the origins of religious thought and our connections to God are found in the ancient past more accurately than today. He asserts that our deeper consciousness has always been the key to understanding our place in the world. The great sages and teachers never intended for the Bible and other religious texts to be read in a literal manner. The real message was always transmitted in parable and allegory, found at deeper and more meaningful levels for those who could comprehend. We can, for example, observe the physical world without viewing the hidden mechanisms of nature. Understanding our place in the world requires a deeper look, beyond physical appearances. Our holy books were often written under this model, with great truths veiled within simple events. Modern religion, including the Bible, blocks this path by interpreting and teaching only what's on the surface, resulting in what the author calls the "unconscionable stultification" of our ability to perceive and use divine truths. According to Kuhn, holy writ has no basis for interpretation along historical lines. We must discover our selves within the inner world, not the outer. This book, his final great work before passing away, attempts to clear a path for mankind toward divine truth.

Book Description
This book shows the importance of knowledge production using requisite terms and frameworks to the broader scheme of epistemic liberation in Africa. The text considers what this veritable direction to knowledge production would mean to other areas of concern in African philosophy such as morality, education and the environment. These contributions are important because the success of decolonising projects in African countries depend upon the methods that underpin envisioned liberative knowledge production in light of Africa’s historical and present condition. This volume appeals to students and researchers working in epistemology and African philosophy.

Book Description
A generation of magnificent scholars, from Peter Drucker to Jack Welch, have taught us that understanding business issues and the profound changes the world's economy is undergoing makes sense if set in historical context. Today the best managers in the world demand to know how things came to be as they are. This collection of essays is designed to give the reader an historical perspective on the fastest growing sector of the work force: knowledge workers. The articles tell you how knowledge workers evolved from manufacturing and agricultural jobs and then go on to give you some insight as to what the future roles of knowledge workers will be. The readings in this volume come from a variety of sources not normally looked at by managers and business executives. There are reports from historians, sociologists, academics, and economic experts. Each chapter begins with a brief introduction on the material, its significance, and something about the context in which it was written, including brief biographical comments on the author. The Rise of the Knowledge Worker is intended for business people, managers, leaders, government employees, and students.

Book Description
This book presents a series of case studies and reflections on the historiographical assumptions, methods and approaches that shape the way in which philosophers construct their own past. The chapters in the volume advance discussion of the methods of historians of philosophy, while at the same time illustrating the various ways in which philosophical canons come into existence, debunking the myth of analytical philosophy’s ahistoricism and providing a deeper understanding of the roles historiographical devices play in philosophical thought. More importantly, the contributors attempt to understand history of philosophy in connection with other historical and historiographical approaches: contributors engage classical history of science, sociology of knowledge, history of psychology and historiography, in dialogue with historiographical practices in philosophy more narrowly construed. Additionally, select chapters adopt a more diverse perspective, by making place for non-Western approaches and for efforts to construe new philosophical narratives that do justice to the voice of women across the centuries. Historiography and the Formation of Philosophical Canons will be of interest to researchers and advanced students working in history of philosophy, meta-philosophy, philosophy of history, historiography, intellectual history and sociology of knowledge.
