Book Description
Today is Fathers Day and our children are planning a get together at their house. As is usual for this time of day, there was the morning fog replaced later by a clear sky, bright sunshine and warmth. The expected high temperature today is 71 degrees Fahrenheit up from this mornings 65 but nowhere near the 91 degrees that thermometers would normally register on Fathers day when I was a kid. Our children have invited us over to celebrate, since our oldest son is now a father himself, and as my wife and I drove over to their duplex, I realized that three generations of my family will be there and it became clear to me that the time had come for me to provide them with a biographical accounting that will fill in some blanks about their paternal roots and give them a clearer understanding of one half of their cultural heritage. It may have appeared to our children during their short childhood visits to the ancestral homeland of their father, that their aunts, uncles and cousins lived differently, and were apparently not as sophisticated as the people with whom they interacted in Berkeley. They were too young to appreciate the fact that their aunts and uncles had successful careers as teachers, master welders, policemen, grocery chain manager, and personal assistant to the President of their countrys Senate. They probably judged that their cousins toys were comparatively primitive viewed against the electronic marvels that they were accustomed to, nor were they as numerous. Television reception there was deplorable compared to what they were used to at home, and the duration of programming was limited, but academically, their young relatives skills were comparable to their own. On one occasion they were awed by the ability of a few of their cousins to build a functional lean-to that fitted into the games they were

Book Description
This book was written with the intention to help you see the process of success as manageable and realistic. In anything we do in life these four key elements play a very important role. We must prepare before we go into battle. We must execute our plan, or our plan is worthless. Action is required along with having a positive outlook that good things will happen. We must persist! We must not let little obstacles stand in our way. Finally we must have patience. Things take time to work. We live in a world of instant gratification, where people want things and they want them now. People want to become the best, the "Michael Jordan's or the Warren Buffett's," yet they are not willing to go through what the best go through to become the best. These examples can go on forever. We must be willing to have patience as we prepare, execute, and persist! I want to help everyone reading this book to see success as a fun journey. People must have fun in life or things become stale. Through stories and analogies this book will keep you engaged from the first page to the last. The best part about the book is that we have interviewed top people in all professions so you can learn from them and realize that where people are today, doesn't happen by accident, it happens on purpose! In the end, this book is different than any other. With a step by step process, you will understand the formula to have success in life, both personally and professionally, however you define success.

Book Description
REDISCOVER THE ART OF NEVER GIVING UPBelieve it or not, EVERY minute on Earth, there is an individual just giving up on his dreams and goals. In fact, most people give up multiple aims within a single day. Most of them blame varying and at first glance (or at least to them), compelling reasons and excuses such as; "I couldn't do it", "I was unlucky" and "It was more difficult than I expected", for their failure but they rarely remember to blame themselves for quitting. Majority of the excuses are built around the notion that they did not have the required talent, resources and skills to achieve their goals, they fail to understand the sole thing they lacked was perseverance and the will to succeed.Does perseverance really yield results or is it just long-term suffering?

Book Description
At a time when many people around the world are living into their tenth decade, the longest longitudinal study of human development ever undertaken offers some welcome news for the new old age: our lives continue to evolve in our later years, and often become more fulfilling than before. Begun in 1938, the Grant Study of Adult Development charted the physical and emotional health of over 200 men, starting with their undergraduate days. The now-classic Adaptation to Life reported on the men’s lives up to age 55 and helped us understand adult maturation. Now George Vaillant follows the men into their nineties, documenting for the first time what it is like to flourish far beyond conventional retirement. Reporting on all aspects of male life, including relationships, politics and religion, coping strategies, and alcohol use (its abuse being by far the greatest disruptor of health and happiness for the study’s subjects), Triumphs of Experience shares a number of surprising findings. For example, the people who do well in old age did not necessarily do so well in midlife, and vice versa. While the study confirms that recovery from a lousy childhood is possible, memories of a happy childhood are a lifelong source of strength. Marriages bring much more contentment after age 70, and physical aging after 80 is determined less by heredity than by habits formed prior to age 50. The credit for growing old with grace and vitality, it seems, goes more to ourselves than to our stellar genetic makeup.
