Book Description
Volume 2 considers the essential conditions for a model to be truly predictive. The authors use a statistical approach to rate the validity of the various predictive models that have been previously used for evaluating various thermophysical properties. On the basis of this assessment, the authors have predicted values for the thermophysical properties of elemental metallic liquids, which are lacking in experimental data. They believe their predicted values are at least as reliable, and sometimes more reliable than corresponding experimental values. According to the periodic law, the authors provide the periodic variations in values of some twelve physical quantities or thermophysical properties. This is based on the electron configuration in the outermost energy level of metallic elements. Finally, a large number of experimental data for the physical quantities and thermophysical properties of liquid metallic elements are compiled.

Book Description
This first volume provides the basic matters needed for understanding the thermophysical properties of metallic liquids and for developing reliable models to accurately predict the thermophysical properties of almost all metallic elements in the liquid state, together with methods for quantitative assessment of models/equations. The authors also review the structure of metallic liquids, which is based on the theory of liquids, density, volume expansivity, thermodynamic properties (evaporation enthalpy, vapour pressure, heat capacity), sound velocity, surface tension, viscosity, diffusion, and electrical and thermal conductivities. Finally, the essential points of methods used for measuring these experimental data are presented.

Book Description
This two volume set provides a clear understanding of the essence of a metallic liquid's thermophysical properties which is indispensable for improving, or innovating any liquid metal processing operation or product quality. The thermophysical properties of metallic liquids are presented, i.e. liquid metals, semimetals, and semiconductors, analysed in relation to our current understanding of the underlying structure of a metallic liquid on the atomic scale and of the electron configuration of an element. The authors' interdisciplinary approach brings together knowledge from various subject areas including: process metallurgy, materials science, condensed matter physics, chemistry, metrology. They introduce new dimensionless parameters to characterise the atomic states of metallic liquids (i.e. an atom's hardness or softness, its anharmonic motions, and the spatial arrangement of the atoms in a metallic liquid), as revealed through data for the velocity of sound in the metallic liquids. The two new simple parameters, common to all elements, allow for better predictions of several important thermophysical properties of liquid metallic elements.

Book Description
This book provides the first comprehensive critical survey of the microstructural characteristics of liquid metals which determine properties of viscosity, surface tension, density, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, electrical resistivity, diffusion, and velocity of sound transmission. The experimental techniques used to obtain these data are also reviewed. The result is a valuable set of correlations and reference data which enable the reader to understand the basic phenomena underlying the properties of liquid metals. As such, the book will be invaluable for metallurgists and materials engineers working in this area.

Book Description
This book assists in the exchange of research and progress outcomes concerned with the latest issues in thermophysical properties (TPPs) of complex liquids research, development, and production. Topics cover the control of transport properties of metallic alloys, thermal analysis of complex plasmas and instabilities in plasma devices, thermophysical properties at nanolevel, theoretical background of viscosities of hydrocarbons at varying temperature and pressure ranges, molecular modeling, and experimental investigations based on nanofluids and ionic conduction in solid-state electrolytes for thermodynamic data. This book enables global researchers to tackle the challenges that continue to generate cost-effective TPPs and the latest understanding in the development of complex materials and the collaboration of modern thermophysical generating technologies. Moreover, it provides a platform for different regional authors to exchange scientific knowledge and generate enthusiasm for science and technology.
