This book, Amplifiers: Analysis and Design, is the second of four books of a larger work, Fundamentals of Electronics. It is comprised of four chapters that describe the fundamentals of amplifier performance. Beginning with a review of two-port analysis, the first chapter introduces the modeling of the response of transistors to AC signals. Basic one-transistor amplifiers are extensively discussed. Wheeler is presented in order to accomplish the transition for the TEM (transverse electromagnetic) solution obtained for transistor response to the microwave integrated circuit technology (microstrip). As experimental verification of the overall design procedure, single-stage and two-stage octave wide transistor amplifiers were fabricated on 1 inch by 1 inch and 1 inch by 1/2 inch 20-mil-thick alumina, respectively.
