Book Description
"Who can penetrate space or encounter the stream of time? Only those who are not fooled into believing that freedom from sensory conditions is attainable by moving beyond a space and a time considered real because of their measurability. The reality of time and space is immeasurable. It cannot be attained by overcoming the given forms of measurement, but rather by overcoming measurement itself. Before this can occur, we must know how and why measurement arises; we must know what the spirit wants by containing within measurement the substance of its eternal telling of tales, whose truth alone justifies measurement --the transitory vision of what space and time are in their most subtle forms." -- Massimo Scaligero This masterly book by Massimo Scaligero --author of The Light (La Luce): An Introduction to Creative Imagination --teaches us how to enter and recognize the spiritual reality behind and within what we objectify as space and time. Those who read The Secrets of Space and Time with meditative effort will be well rewarded with profound insights about the true nature of the world around us. The book is a translation from Italian of Segreti dello spazio e del tempo (Libreria Tilopa, Rome, 1963).

Book Description
INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER “Most appealing... technical accuracy and lightness of tone... Impeccable.”—Wall Street Journal “A porthole into another world.”—Scientific American “Brings science dissemination to a new level.”—Science The most trusted explainer of the most mind-boggling concepts pulls back the veil of mystery that has too long cloaked the most valuable building blocks of modern science. Sean Carroll, with his genius for making complex notions entertaining, presents in his uniquely lucid voice the fundamental ideas informing the modern physics of reality. Physics offers deep insights into the workings of the universe but those insights come in the form of equations that often look like gobbledygook. Sean Carroll shows that they are really like meaningful poems that can help us fly over sierras to discover a miraculous multidimensional landscape alive with radiant giants, warped space-time, and bewilderingly powerful forces. High school calculus is itself a centuries-old marvel as worthy of our gaze as the Mona Lisa. And it may come as a surprise the extent to which all our most cutting-edge ideas about black holes are built on the math calculus enables. No one else could so smoothly guide readers toward grasping the very equation Einstein used to describe his theory of general relativity. In the tradition of the legendary Richard Feynman lectures presented sixty years ago, this book is an inspiring, dazzling introduction to a way of seeing that will resonate across cultural and generational boundaries for many years to come.

Book Description
People, children especially, have been baffled, bewildered, and even outraged by the fact that Pluto is no longer called a planet. Through whimsical artwork and an entertaining dialogue format, Pluto’s Secret explains the true story of this distant world. Providing a history of the small, icy world from its discovery and naming to its recent reclassification, this book presents a fascinating look at how scientists organize and classify our solar system as they gain new insights into how it works and what types of things exist within it. The book includes a glossary and bibliography. Praise for Pluto's Secret "Pairing a lighthearted narrative in a hand-lettered†“style typeface with informally drawn cartoon illustrations, this lively tale of astronomical revelations begins with the search for Planet X.†? —Kirkus Reviews "This picture book offers a fresh, positive perspective on Pluto, showing that its change of status is not a demotion but a correction." —Booklist "Light-hearted imagining of a gregarious Pluto.†? —Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books "Fun reading... Book Description
'This terrific memoir... is utterly gripping' Mail on Sunday ‘Read this book and be inspired to reach for the impossible’ Brian Greene Many children dream of becoming an astronaut when they grow up, but when a six-year-old Mike Massimino saw Neil Armstrong walk on the moon he knew what he wanted to do when he became an adult. But NASA rejected him; then when he applied again they turned him down because of his poor eyesight. For the next year he trained his eyes to work better and finally, at the third time of asking, NASA accepted him. So began Massimino's 18-year career as an astronaut, and the extraordinary lengths he went to to get accepted was only the beginning. In this awe-inspiring memoir, he reveals the hard work, camaraderie and sheer guts involved in the life of an astronaut; he vividly describes what it is like to strap yourself into the Space Shuttle and blast off into space, or the sensation of walking in space, as he did when he completed a mission to service the Hubble telescope. He also talks movingly about the Columbia tragedy, and how it felt to step into the Space Shuttle again in the aftermath of that disaster. Massimino was inspired by the film The Right Stuff, and this book is not only a tribute to those fellow astronauts he worked with, but also a stunning example of someone who had exactly those attributes himself.

Book Description
There are areas of science that are off limits to the public and are not taught in our universities. The science and technology of anti-gravity and extracting energy from space itself was developed in the late 19th and early 20th century by scientists and experimenters like John Worrell Keely, Nicola Tesla, and Thomas Townsend Brown. But today, this science is purposely overlooked and regulated to the world of "Black Projects." The publicly acknowledged space program is but a "smoke screen" to hide a secret space program, overseen by NSA, the CIA and a secret branch of the U.N., that is so secret that even some U.S. Presidents and Congressional oversight committees are not even aware of it. Secret Science and the Secret Space Program will document and provide an in depth look at this secret science and technology and the secret space program that has already colonized Mars, built bases on our Moon and other planet's moons and given us the ability to travel to the stars. "Black" science is so far ahead of acknowledged science that this book will seem like science fiction to many who read it.

Book Description
This fascinating work begins with a scientific appraisal of time and its relationship with 3D space. It explains in clear, understandable language, the complex theories of such famous men as Newton, Einstein, and Stephen Hawking. Is time infinite, or does it have a beginning and an end? Do Black Holes and White Vortices distort time, or penetrate it? The authors also analyse and evaluate puzzling, well documented reports of time travel and reincarnation, and strange cases of deja vu. Can time travel account for such anachronistic discoveries as a 20th century sparkplug found encased among fossils half a million years old? Finally, the authors bring all the unsolved time-related mysteries together in a unified field theory that suggests an awesome answer to the mysteries of time-travel and reincarnation.

Book Description
This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can usually download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1905 edition. Excerpt: ... MOON. The Moon has been accused of many crimes by the inhabitants of this Earth. She is the most abused Planet in space, for she has no volcanoes in or under her surface, nor in any part of her interior, and never has had. She has only such as the Sun has, or may have at some future day, and that future day, it is estimated, will not occur for over two million years. In or about that time those who live upon this Earth will see his corona destroyed, as the Moon's has been, for she was once a Sun, and those holes you see upon her surface are the living witnesses of this fact. Through these she once fed her dependent Planets as the Sun feeds his now. The Sun's lines have not been torn from his body as the Moon's have, and, of course, he has none of these so-called craters on his surface, as these holes on the Moon are called. The coming astronomers will think differently when they compare the eruptions of our Sun with these holes, and remember that the Moon lost her systolic action when she lost her Planets. When the Sun's corona is destroyed, or worn out by its incessant labors, or by the destruction of his Planets, you will see greater holes upon his surface than you see now upon the Moon's. When that time comes the Moon will be numbered with the rest of those dark bodies in the sky, which took millions and millions of years to make. The Moon still dispenses all the beautiful colors and mineral solutions that the Sun does. All the colors of our system come from the Sun through his rays on the outside, and by the diffusion from the tube connects him with our Earth. The Moon's spiral, though smaller, is identical with that of the Sun, and she is bound by double lines as the Sun is. These lines cross her surface, as they do the Sun's, and...
