A handwritten case report for a phrenological reading of the character and mental development of Geo. A. Snow of New York City, signed "R.P. Lewis, Phonegraphic [sic] Reporter, La Porte, Ind." It is accompanied by a business card for "Geo. A. Snow, manufacturer of Look Glass Frames, cornices and mouldings, 13 Baxter Street, near Chatham Street, New York". According to a New York City directory, Snow's business was at this address ca. 1880; the latest possible date for the examination is based on Fowler's death date. The assessment states, in part: "Indomitability, Sir, is altogether your predominant characteristic and remarkably developed. You are one of the most stable and decided of men that I ever examined. ...This is an ecelent [sic] head and will do more for you than for most men." Fowler advises Snow to be a manufacturer.
