Book Description
This perceptive, coherent, thought-provoking and piercing work highlights the subtle social game of everyday life filled with puns and double meanings, seen through the eyes of an unorthodox hero - a very young priest by the name of Nickolas Jordan. He is a teenage African boy who loses his family in a gruesome genocide. He finds himself in New York City as a political refugee; disillusioned with the adult world and its phoniness; where his world takes another tumble as he meets all kinds of people that further shatter his understanding of life; an envious lawyer, an angry artist, an egocentric heiress, a greedy businessman and a slothful dreamer. After a decade has passed, he returns to his native country to meet his only remaining relative, and childhood best friend maybe to find some closure, but to his surprise, he discovers that she is a gluttonous alcoholic and the best friend, an opportunistic pervert. All these encounters, events and relationships, shape his views and beliefs that ultimately induce him to become a priest. The story is set between 1993 and 2013 in New York, Paris, Nairobi and Burundi, and begets the question whether the Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Book Description
A SUSPENSE AND ACTION-PACKED MYSTERY WITH A TOUCH OF ROMANCE What happens to a sleepy little mountain town when a bear hunt goes deadly wrong? Bear Creek, Arizona is generally a quiet place to live up in the mountains away from all the big city crime. This is about to change as threats are made, people are being shot at, men are murdered, and someone is staying at the old Ghost Town. Is that “someone” the killer/shooter? Blake Thornton along with his older sister, Reggie, and younger brother, Kirby, own a ranch in Bear Creek. In order to pay for the expansion of their herd, they have started a hunting guide service. Most of these clients/hunters want to hunt bear or mountain lion. The Thornton’s have three men coming for a bear hunt. In order to prepare for them, Blake has decided to check the trail for signs of bear. However, someone starts shooting at him. Were they trying to killing him or scare him? Why? Blake didn’t think he had anyone that angry with him. Upon arrival in Bear Creek, the hunters start to cause problems. Blake soon realizes that they are facing even more troubles with these men. The terms and rules of the hunt are given to the hunters and they agree to abide by them. But before the hunt can even get started, one of the hunters is found dead! Was it murder? Was it one of the other hunters who did it? Why? Dixie Gordon runs one of two local bar and grills. Her husband, Dan, disappeared four years ago when their twin daughters were babies. The divorce proceedings will be final in three weeks. Dixie has just received word that her soon to be ex-husband is coming back to Bear Creek. Is he planning to try to stop the divorce, take the girls or try to get the bar? Why is he coming back now? Dan threatens Dixie. The other bar and grill owner is trying to hurt Dixie’s business, but why? They cater to different customers. Dixie is shot at twice. Is the shooter trying to scare her or kill her? Why? Who? Chip Green is investigating the murders and shootings. As more murders are committed, Chip needs help. Since Blake and Kirby are reserve deputies, Chip activates them when the extra help he has requested from the sheriff’s department doesn’t come. Blake tries to protect Dixie and find the killer. Can he keep Dixie and her girls safe? Can he keep himself safe?

Book Description
The Collected Papers of Bertrand Russell, Volume 26 covers a period of transition in Russell's political life between his orthodox and sometimes pugnacious defence of the West in the early post-war, and the dissenting advocacy of nuclear disarmament and détente that started in earnest in the mid-1950s. While some of the assembled writings echo harsh prior criticism of Soviet expansionism and dictatorship, others register growing qualms about the recklessness of American foreign policy and the baneful effects on civil liberties of anti-communist hysteria inside the United States. Whether continuing to push for western rearmament, or highlighting in a more placatory vein the folly of the Cold War's divisions and rival fanaticisms, Russell's paramount objective was avoiding a war that threatened global catastrophe. Suspended between fear and hope, he expounded his evolving political concerns–and much else besides, including autobiographical reflections and typically common-sense guidance for living well–in a constant flow of newspaper and magazine articles, letters to editors, radio broadcasts and discussions and, of special note, a Nobel Prize acceptance speech. Russell also completed two lecture tours of the United States (the last of many), as well as a landmark such visit to Australia. All three of these journeys, and the textual record they left, are examined in depth using manuscript material and unpublished correspondence from the Bertrand Russell Archives at McMaster University, which is mined extensively throughout the volume.

Book Description
Sylvia Browne and her guides help solve a great mystery—namely, what is the meaning of life? Most human beings—and many teachers and great scholars—have pondered this question over the years, but there has never been a truly definitive answer. This leaves most of us with a feeling of being incomplete in some way. Here, Sylvia and her guides take you to that place within you where you can achieve a sense of intellectual and spiritual fulfillment. They explain that we are here to perfect our souls by absorbing God’s knowledge. We are the experiencing side of God, where God is the primary intellect of creation. Simply put, to really know something means that we must also truly experience it. For example, we can read a book about boat building, but only after actually building that boat will we fully understand it from an all-encompassing perspective. Soul’s Perfection takes you through the complete scope of your soul’s journey, from planning each incarnation on the Other Side to making life meaningful here on Earth. If you wish to stand proudly before God some day, then the concepts discussed here will bring you wisdom, depth, and spiritual insight.
