Book Description
Excerpt from The Journal of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, 1907, Vol. 68 Another useful little amendment of the law provides that the arbitrator shall on the application of either party specify the amount awarded in respect of any particular improvement or any particular matter the subject of the award. The necessity for the introduction of the words particular matter in the present Act was occasioned by the refusal of some arbitrators to state more in their award than they were compelled to do by the actual words of the Act as, however, under the present Act the arbitrator will be required to determine other things besides the compensation for improvements, as indeed he was, although not to the same extent, under the earlier Acts, the provision should prove useful. Book Description
Excerpt from The Journal of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, 1878, Vol. 14 The contents of this volume are confined as much as possible to the Agriculture of England and Wales; but the first article gives a General View of the Agriculture of the three kingdoms which constitute Great Britain and Ireland, and in the articles upon Land Law and Taxation it has been impossible to separate entirely the English from the Scotch and Irish branches of the subject. It has also been difficult to draw rigid lines of demar cation between the subjects assigned to the different authors, but care has been taken to prevent avoidable repetition. If, however, No. 6 pig had not been attacked by its companions, we may assume that it would have increased 2 lbs., and the result would have been a gain of 7 lbs. of flesh, worth 3. 9rf. The palm-nut meal used in these experiments was obtained from Messrs. Alex.
