William Dixon was born 4 June 1816 in Hunslet, Yorkshire, England. He emigrated in 1749 and settled in Pennsylvania. He married Christina Orchard 25 August 1755 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. They had four children. He died 7 March 1764 in Bethabara, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina, South Carolina, Arkansas and Texas.
