Body Snatchers in the Desert
Author: Nick Redfern
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1416510168
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 260
Book Description
Body Snatchers in the Desert reveals the events that really happened in the New Mexico desert in 1947 that birthed the Rosewell Myth. "RAAF captures flying saucer on ranch in Roswell region." Ever since this provocative headline appeared on July 8, 1947, conspiracy theorists have sincerely believed that the U.S. government has maintained an extensive operation of cover-up-and-denial regarding its knowledge of alien life. But there was, in fact, no UFO crash with dead alien bodies. What really happened on that fateful day is much more sinister. The persistent rumors surrounding the UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico, are part of a bigger conspiracy—one orchestrated and fostered by the government itself as a smokescreen to bury a truth that is much darker, and disturbingly, far more believable. Now, through never-before-revealed testimony from military whistleblowers, eyewitness intelligence reports, and an astonishing body of corroborative evidence, Nick Redfern lays out a shockingly plausible new theory on the Roswell incident: that the crash-site discovery of prototype military aircraft would expose a damning secret—a highly confidential, U.S. government-sanctioned program to conduct medical experiments on deformed, handicapped, disfigured, and diseased Japanese POWs, exploited as "expendable" victims by their captors. An important account that forces us to take a closer look at both the Roswell story and post-war American history, Body Snatchers in the Desert casts a startling, new light on a shocking conspiracy more than half a century in the making.

Lifesavers and Body Snatchers

Languages : en
Pages : 419
Book Description
*FINALIST FOR THE 2023 OTTAWA BOOK AWARD* *SHORTLISTED FOR THE 2022 TEMPLER MEDAL FOR BEST BOOK* From Canada’s top war historian, a definitive medical history of the Great War, illuminating how the carnage of modern battle gave birth to revolutionary life-saving innovations. It brings to light shocking revelations of the ways the brutality of combat and the necessity of agonizing battlefield decisions led to unimaginable strain for men and women of medicine who fought to save the lives of soldiers. Medical care in almost all armies during the Great War, and especially in the Canadian medical services, was sophisticated and constantly evolving. Vastly more wounded soldiers were saved than lost. Doctors and surgeons prevented disease from decimating armies, confronted ghastly wounds from chemical weap-ons, remade shattered bodies, and struggled to ease soldiers’ battle-haunted minds. After the war, the hard lessons learned by doctors and nurses were brought back to Canada. A new Department of Health created guidelines in the aftermath of the 1918–1919 influ-enza pandemic, which had killed 55,000 Canadians and millions around the world. In a grim irony, the fight to improve civilian health was furthered by the most destructive war up to that point in human history. But medical advances were not the only thing brought back from Europe: Lifesavers and Body Snatchers exposes the disturbing story of the harvesting of human body parts in medical units behind the lines. Tim Cook has spent over a decade investigating the history of Canadian medical doctors removing the body parts of slain soldiers and transporting their brains, lungs, bones, and other organs to the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) in London, England. Almost 800 individual body parts were removed from the dead and sent to London, where they were stored, treated, and presented in exhibition galleries. After being exhibited there, the body parts were displayed in Canada. This uncovered history has never been told before and is part of the hidden legacy of the medical war. Based on deep archival research and unpublished letters of soldiers and medical personnel, Lifesavers and Body Snatchers is a powerful narrative, told in Cook’s literary style, which reveals how the medical services supported the soldiers at the front and forged a profound legacy in shaping Canadian public health in the decades that followed.

Book Description
He’s a tough ex-military cowboy returning home to right old wrongs, longing for forgiveness from his childhood best friend and the only woman he ever loved. The last place Wyatt Callahan thought he'd ever return was to his home town. Vivid images of Abby — his beautiful neighbor and his one and only love — rushed through him bringing heartache. He remembered her from years ago when they were in love. She was just out of high school she had accepted his marriage proposal. When her father asked them to wait a year to marry, they had agreed. From day one he began writing Abby love letters, disappointed when he never heard back from her. Had something happened to stop her from writing to him? When he found out a year later that Abby had married his good friend, Wyatt was heartbroken. Now years later, it was the unexpected death of Abby’s husband in the line of duty that was one of the reasons he returned home. The other was the sudden death of his father, Mack Callahan. Wyatt stood rigidly nearby the fresh graves of the two men he respected and loved most in this world and knew it was time for him to come home to stay. With a dying request from his Dad and a driving need consuming him, Wyatt determined he wouldn’t stop until he made things right between himself and those he loved. She’s newly widowed, heartbroken and still angry at her best friend for loving and leaving her years ago… Abby Meadows Hart spent her childhood on her family’s ranch next door to the Callahan family. Sharing everything with her best friend Wyatt, she eventually fell in love with him. Unexpectedly, when Abby's dreams of marrying her best friend were crushed, she agreed to marry the man of her parents choosing. Married only a few short years without warning, Abby was left a widow. All alone and drowning in debt, her one goal was to keep the only thing that gave her a sense of belonging. Abby is desperate to hold onto the ranch and her animals above all else, after she has suffered pain and abandonment by those she trusted and loved the most in this world. At Wyatt Callahan’s abrupt homecoming, anger and pain closes in around her and bittersweet memories return of the first man she ever loved. It seems that every time Wyatt and Abby push past one obstacle, another one looms larger on the path just ahead. Can they forgive each other and move on from their painful pasts to embrace a second chance at love?

The Eye of Illumination
Author: W.C. Gorski
Publisher: Gatekeeper Press
ISBN: 164237878X
Category : Fiction
Languages : en
Pages : 298
Book Description
There was a time. A time long before the Troll-Wars and the days of Noah. A time long forgotten and lost to recorded history, where kings, men, Elves, Dwarves and El’dwars ruled in harmony in their separate nation-states. And there were Wizards who used their mystical powers to serve the inhabitants of the realm, building the peace, projecting and overseeing all that was good within the lands of these allied nations. It was a good time. Oh, that’s not to say there weren’t a few minor incidents amongst the usual unsavory types. But isn’t that always the case in any normal society? Or is it? To the North lay the lands of Norsada where all was not good. Norsada was home to the Muzoule, despicable creatures who had a growing hatred for the inhabitants of the Realm. Their loathing for all that was good became a religion to them, and they rallied the defeated Trolls and Gnomes to war against the believers of the Lord of Creation. Since their defeat and loss of territories at the end of the Troll-Wars, their evil was ever growing. It was a vile festering malevolent influence that slowly began sweeping its way South to the Realm, insidiously infecting the weak of mind, the faint of heart and those who lust for power. The source of this evil emanated from the glowing Eye. The Eye of Illumination that sat in place of the capstone upon a pyramid in the midst of Northern most area of the Muzoule territories. The glowing eye was a source connection to a greater evil sealed within the portal of the Second Heaven. It was a dimensional prison reserved for the devil, the so called Shinning-One, along with his fallen angles. For them, there was no way out. No way to rule. No way to control and torture, until the Sword of Leahanna. The Sword by itself was a killing machine, created by the Elfin Warrior Leahanna. The Sword as created was not controllable. However in the past, it was a most effective tool paramount to winning the Troll-Wars. But, it was indiscriminate of who it killed when held high as it took control of its wielder. The Elfin Queen Leahanna employed the Sword in battle; and in doing so, it unintentionally and without discretion murdered her late husband K’Thilladorn. From that point on, Queen Leahanna could not bear to look upon the murderous weapon. To bring the Sword under control, the Elfin Priestess Lynthena nurtured from a small speck a Pearl within the crystalline waters of I’Thilliander. When inserted within the pommel of the Sword, it brought this killing machine under usable control and was tested in battle by Commander K’Leander. It worked. Still, the Queen could not tolerate its presence within the Elfin forest of I’Thillianne. She ordered that both the Pearl and the Sword be separated and hidden in separate locations, never to be used again. However, there was another unexpected component to the Pearl and Sword’s functionality. When reunited, the Pearl with the Sword became a Key. As prophesied by the dying King K’Thilladorn, beware during the time of a full Blood-Moon. If the blade of this Sword, now the key were to be inserted into the slot of the fractured lock at the top of the Evil-One’s Ziggurat, hell would break loose. An open floodgate to evil would be unleashed. The porthole to another dimension, the second heaven reserved for the devil and his angles would be free to come crawling out to infect all living things. Evil would once again rein supreme over the land. Torture and agony would be the rule-of-day. The Illuminated One will have won. This is the story of how good God fearing men, women and the inhabitants of their era prevailed and overcame corruption and wickedness. It is a story of impaling evil and keeping it from ever becoming the worst disaster in unrecorded history. The Wizards of the High Tower would see to it!
