The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1970, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from July 17 through October 11, 1970. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, Brother Lee ministered in Los Angeles from the middle of July to the middle of August. He then visited San Francisco; Seattle, Washington; Moses Lake, Washington; and San Francisco again before returning to Los Angeles near the end of September. There is no record of his speaking in Moses Lake. He remained in Los Angeles for about a week, and then he visited Atlanta and Chicago until approximately the middle of October. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Eighteen messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 17 through 25. These messages were previously published in a fourteen-chapter book entitled Christ versus Religion. 2. Ten messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 28 through August 8. They are included in this volume under the title Experiencing the Divine Spirit in Our Human Spirit for the Building Up of the Church as the Body of Christ. 3. Fourteen messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 28 through August 9. These messages were given during twenty-four sessions of fellowship held in the mornings on these days. Ten of these sessions consisted entirely of testimonies from brothers and sisters from around the world. The speaking by Brother Lee is included in this volume in seven chapters under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Sevenfold Spirit and the Unique Ground of Oneness for the Local Churches. 4. Five messages given in San Francisco, California, on August 14 through 16. They are included in this section under the title Drinking the All-inclusive Spirit for the Practice of the Church Life and the Central Work of God. 5. Six messages given in Seattle, Washington, on September 4 through 7. They are included in this volume under the title The Spirit and the Lord's Recovery. 6. Four messages given in San Francisco, California, on September 18 through 20. These messages were published previously under the title The Two Greatest Prayers of the Apostle Paul. 7. One message given in San Francisco, California, on September 20. It is included in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Church and the Strengthening and Release of the Inner Man. 8. Four messages given in Los Angeles, California, from September 27 through October 2. These messages are included in this volume under the title Worshipping God with the Worship That He Seeks. 9. Five messages given in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 6 through 8. These messages are included in this volume under the title Taking Christ as Our Person for the Church and Worshipping the Father in Spirit and Truthfulness. 10. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from April 4 through August 9, 1969. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, in early April Brother Lee made a brief visit to Waco, Texas, and at the beginning of May he visited San Francisco. At the end of May he traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico; and then to Erie, Pennsylvania; Toronto, Canada; and Erie, Pennsylvania, a second time. Regrettably, there is no record of Brother Lee's speaking in his first visit to Erie and in his visit to Toronto. He returned to Los Angeles at the beginning of July and remained there until the end of August. The contents of this volume are divided into nine sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given in Waco, Texas, on April 4 through 6. These messages are included in this section under the title Experiencing and Enjoying the All-inclusive, Compound Spirit for the Building Up of the Church as God's Dwelling Place. The recording of one of the six messages appears to have been lost. 2. Seven messages given in San Francisco, California, on May 2 through 4. They are included in this volume under the title Praising God with Christ as the Content by Our Experiencing and Enjoying Him. 3. Nine messages given in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from May 31 through June 5. These messages are included in this volume under the title Practicing the Church Life by Exercising the Spirit. 4. Two messages given in Erie, Pennsylvania, on June 28. These messages were given near the end of a longer conference that began on June 19. Regrettably, there is no record of Brother Lee's speaking from June 19 through 27. The two recorded messages are included in this section under the title TheRecovery of the Local Churches with the Sevenfold Spirit. 5. Ten messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 4 through 13. They were originally published in The Stream, volume 7, number 4, November 1, 1969; and volume 8, number 1, February 1, 1970; and number 2, May 1, 1970, under the title The Seven Spirits for the Local Churches. 6. Eight messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 4 through 12, 1969. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 2, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from April 6 through July 7, 1963, with the exception of messages he gave in a series on the Gospel of John, which are published in Life-study of John (not included in The Collected Works). In the first part of April, Brother Lee was in Los Angeles. At the end of that month he visited San Diego, California, and then returned to Los Angeles for most of May. At the end of May and the first part of June he visited Christian groups in Sacramento, California, and in Eugene, Salem, and Portland, Oregon, before giving a conference in San Francisco. For the remainder of the period he was in Los Angeles. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Six messages given at a conference in Los Angeles on April 12 through 14. These messages have been published under the title The Four Major Steps of Christ. The published book consists of four chapters. 2. Ten messages given at a conference in San Diego on April 23 through 27. These messages have been published under the title God's Intention concerning Christ and the Church. 3. Four messages given in Los Angeles in Lord's Day morning meetings in May and June. These messages are included in this volume under the title Lord's Day Morning Messages. 4. A series of messages composed from personal notes taken by several individuals in various meetings held throughout the period. These include nine messages given in Los Angeles on Saturday mornings from April 6 through May 25; two messages given in Sacramento on May 30; and a report given in Los Angeles on June 14 concerning Brother Lee's visit to the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Speakings. Brother Lee gave two additional messages in Sacramento on Lord's Day, June 2, of which there is no record. 5. Seven fellowship meetings held with the leading ones in Los Angeles and Chula Vista, California, from April 21 through June 24. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Leading Ones. The contents were composed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. 6. Eight messages given in Eugene, Salem, and Portland on June 4 through 9. These messages have been published under the title The Living That Fulfills God's Eternal Purpose. One message was given in Eugene, one in Salem, and six in Portland. According to the record of these meetings, Brother Lee gave a second message in Salem on the subject of "Following the Lord in the Spirit," but the record of this message is not available. 7. Three messages given at a conference in San Francisco on June 11 through 13. These messages are included in this volume under the title Transformation for God's Building. 8. Fourteen messages given in Los Angeles on June 29 through July 7. These messages have been published under the title The Central Thought of God.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1970, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from January through July 1970. During this period Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles for the first two weeks of January, after which he traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and remained there until early February. There is no record of his speaking in Sao Paulo. On his return to the United States he stopped in Houston, Texas, where he gave a conference, and then returned to Los Angeles in the middle of February, where he remained until the end of March. He then visited Mesa, Arizona, for a weekend conference. He returned to Southern California and ministered in Los Angeles and Costa Mesa until the last week in June. He traveled to Toronto, Canada, for one week and proceeded to visit Akron, Ohio, until the middle of July. There is no record of his speaking in Toronto. Brother Lee then returned to Los Angeles and ministered there until the middle of August. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Eleven messages given in Los Angeles, California, from January 1 through 4. These messages were previously published in a ten-chapter book entitled The Fulfillment of God's Purpose by the Growth of Christ in Us. Two of the spoken messages were combined. 2. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on January 18. This message was previously published in The Ministry magazine, volume 2, number 8, August/September 1998, as the first part of a chapter entitled "Migration in God's Move." It is included in this volume under the title Fellowship on Migration. 3. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on February 24. It is included in this volume under the title Bearing Fruit for the Manifestation of the Triune God and Standing Against the Opposition of the Religious World. 4. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Way to Grow in Life. 9. Three messages given in Costa Mesa, California, on May 30 and 31. They are included in this volume under the title Crucial Points concerning Christ, the Church, and the Two Spirits in John's Gospel and Revelation. 10. Eight messages given in Akron, Ohio, on July 3 through 5. There is no record of the first message in this series. The remaining seven messages are included in this volume under the title Basic Lessons concerning the New Testament Service. The first recorded message was divided into two parts for publication in this section. 11. Eight messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 17 through 25. Brother Lee also gave seven messages in Los Angeles, California, during a period of informal training from April 1 through May 13.
