Book Description
Our ideas about David are to a certain extent conventional. Everybody has made for himself a picture of the Psalmist king, and has put into it some of his own prejudices and personality. We have French Davids, English and German ones, Davids who believe and Davids without faith, Jewish Davids, Davids Catholic and Protestant, Davids of the eighteenth and of the nineteenth centuries, all deviating from the original in a marked degree, each placed against a background in accordance with the accustomed surroundings of the painter. My wish has been to reinstate the hero of the Biblical epic in his own times and environment, or at least to make the attempt.

Mary Ann Bishop is a long time Bible teacher, recording artist and conference speaker. She is also a unique type of missionary. Because of her passion for missions and her heart for the lost, in 2000 she and her husband, David, founded White Harvest Trading Company and White Harvest Foundation, (www.whiteharvesttradingco.com) a ministry which seeks to bring hope to the unreached people of Southeast Asia. Presently David and Mary Ann are working in China, Vietnam and Laos by providing business platforms for missionaries who are targeting the various people groups in these areas. Ethnic products from these people groups are imported and sold in their very unique store located in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. David and Mary Ann are the parents of two grown children, Wesley and Elizabeth. They reside in Pawleys Island, South Carolina where Mary Ann teaches Community Bible Study. Bruce Chandler teaches art classes for both children and adults, paints commissions as well as local and historical landmarks for prints. Bruce also paints murals for residences, churches and businesses, the largest of which is 79 feet long and located in Douglas Airport, Charlotte, North Carolina. The highest paintings are located in numerous Super Wal-Mart stores, and the most humorous can be found in a Litchfield, SC beach house.
