At least two hundred volumes have been examined with a good degree of diligence, in the preparation of the edition now offered to the profession, with a view to its reasonable completeness up to the present time. The results of this have been embodied into the work in as compact a form as could be done without disturbing the orderly symmetry of its arrangement.
