La prima parte introduce il lettore ai problemi della modellazione e della progettazione strutturale, alla luce delle conoscenze scientifiche attuali, nonché dei codici normativi e delle linee guida nazionali e internazionali che si sono susseguiti nel tempo fino alle Norme Tecniche per le Costruzioni emanate nel 2018. In particolare il terzo capitolo contiene una trattazione completa sull’ingegneria sismica, che spazia dall’analisi del rischio sino alla valutazione della domanda, della capacità, delle prestazioni e del danneggiamento delle costruzioni. La seconda parte è dedicata ai problemi di modellazione della geometria, della muratura e delle azioni, per costruzioni nuove o esistenti, fornendo per esse anche un’ampia descrizione delle tecniche di caratterizzazione sperimentale. La terza e ultima parte tratta l’analisi lineare e non lineare delle strutture in muratura, sia con riferimento alle verifiche globali che a quelle locali, in presenza di azioni sismiche e non sismiche. Il testo si conclude con la valutazione strutturale di un edificio esistente, così da poter fornire un esempio di applicazione dei concetti e dei metodi di analisi esposti nel libro.

The 4th International Conference on Performance-based Design in Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering (PBD-IV) is held in Beijing, China. An innovative strengthening technique for the seismic retrofitting of masonry buildings is the fabric-reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM). The system presented in this work is EQ-GRID, which consists of a multi-axial hybrid grid made of alkali-resistant glass and polypropylene fibres and a natural hydraulic lime mortar (NHL) as matrix.
