Book Description
An eight-year-old precocious child carrying on a theological conversation with her 73-year-old grandfather --- not just any grandfather but a noted "Reverend Canon Professor... who has edited a volume on Christian dogmatics. In an introduction, the author explains her book's origin: "It all began on a dark, chilly night, sitting by the fireplace long after my bedtime at [my grandparents'] home in Princeton, New Jersey. I had a theological question to ask my grandfather (Poppi)... Poppi gave a lengthy reply that led me to ask him more theological questions." The next morning her grandmother suggested that further conversations be taped and transcribed "to turn them into a book." In a second introduction, Dr. Jenson explains that the conversations were "wholly unscripted" and edited ever-so-slightly. Topical subheads have been added (something less than chapter demarcations) to introduce conversational shifts. Occasionally the narration is so conversational that I had to read a sentence twice. But a heavier edit probably would have interfered with the spontaneous and playful tone of the mischievous child, who sometimes teases her grandfather and even brings up Dante and his view of purgatory (which Solveig's father has explained to her). Let's see what is happening throughout the story!

Book Description
This book contains poems that issue mainly from the poet's experience and perspective as a First Nation Wampanoag member. Raised and educated by his non-native mother, he was also strongly influenced by his Wampanoag grandfather's stories and knowledge of the history of his people. In his thirties he began to travel to learn from elders of nations that lay distant from civilization in Canada and the north and southwest and found from them the wisdom he had found nowhere else. The elders asked him to go where he might be invited and make this wisdom available to all who asked for it, and for five decades, he has continued to travel wherever invited and speak to all who wish to listen.

Book Description
Conversations With Grandpa...What Every Christian Grandfather Wants His Children And Grandchildren To Understand is a skillfully written trilogy starting with the heart-warming story about Dr. Stephens' acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Savior. The highly unusual interjection of circumstances into his life, by a Christian southern couple, provided the knowledge and reason for the need of salvation in one's life. Dr. Stephens' intense study of the Bible, his church attendance, and the countless hours spent in prayer and study enabled him to provide the scriptural background for the 2nd book within the trilogy. Areas of interest covered are salvation, justification, and sanctification. The clear description of these subjects will enlighten anyone from the teenager to the senior adult, who is searching for knowledge on how one gets to heaven. Dr. Stephens uses a unique approach of fictitious objections to the Bible that he has encountered through years of witnessing to people. The objections of these fictitious characters were actually told to him, which provided insight and information for the writing of this book. The last book gives Dr. Stephens' life experiences of dealing with cancer, the loss of 2 professional licenses, which devastated his income, and the way to dealt with forgiveness of all who violated his constitutional rights in the loss of his licenses. This book will become a reference book for years to come

Book Description
This story tells of actual instances involving Grandpa Henning and (in particular) his grandson Billy, when he was just six years old. One day, the normal conversation occurring during playtime with Billy turned decidedly (by him) to a focused and significantly important topic. More specifically and with Billy being a rather exacting person, very inquisitive and always wondering and searching, he began talking about God, and the result of that memorable day was his asking Grandpa, specifically, "But, Grandpa, who made God?" From that point on, Grandpa's direction was clearly defined and calling for him to provide a well-considered, understandable response. Grandpa gladly accepted that responsibility, and the rest is history, as they say. Perhaps the Lord is now calling you in a similar manner or will be in the future or even perhaps has called you in the past to provide guidance to a family member or a friend and you did not allow yourself to proceed. Perhaps the story revealed in this book is exactly what you need in your life now to either accept the truth about Christ, our Savior, yourself or be a part of the effort to help another come to know the plan God has for their life. Step forward and know the peace and joy that are yours to behold!

Book Description
Seven-year-old Joshua has serious doubts about God. His parents don't attend church--don't think it's necessary--and his best friend is mad at God because his mom died even though he had prayed for her to live. How can he possibly find answers to his questions? If you've been looking for something in addition to the wonderful stories in the Bible to help a child who is special to you learn more about God, Tell Me About God, Grandpa is a big step forward in meeting that need. In this book Joshua spends an "old-fashioned week" with his grandparents, who are vacationing in their camper at a rural campground. With the wisdom Grandpa and Grandma have learned from scriptures, they use the teachable moments during an experience here and a conversation there, and lovingly reveal to Josh the awesome God they love and serve. On an elementary level they reveal God's character, His creation and plan for mankind, the fall, and our need for someone to rescue us and restore us to fellowship with our Heavenly Father. Tell Me About God, Grandpa offers a subtle theological education nestled within a casual, imaginative, heart-warming story. This book is a real find for kids and for the adults blessed to be reading it to them.
