The papers summarize the current status of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center's (HEC) 'Next Generation (NexGen) Software Development Project'. The NexGen project is both a change to the modern windows, graphic-user-interface, computer environment and an expansion of technical engineering capabilities. The first paper provides a summary of the entire NexGen project and the other three papers highlight specific developments in the watershed hydrology, river hydraulics, and flood damage software development.
