Associated with the many decades of Stamford's development are historic events, quaint legends and unusual incidents, which furnish a charming and picturesque background for the Stamford of today. Interesting histories of the town have been written, which are of permanent value to the community, but some do not find time to read them, and for others they are not easily accessible. The purpose of this little booklet is not to give a complete historical record, but to furnish the reader with brief sketches dealing with some of the outstanding events and traditions associated with the town.
