These pages do not presume to contain all that speech has to offer, but they do present enough of the bases of speech as related to teaching to point the way for the student. The purpose of the text is to aid the student who Wishes to be come an efficient classroom teacher. This text is designed for all prospective teachers. It is not a text designed to prepare teachers of speech. The effort is to prepare all teachers to use speech more effectively in all their classroom and extra-classroom work. Those students who will continue in their study of speech that they may become teachers of speech should find much to aid them in their future studies, but the emphasis is away from the training of Specialists.
