Publisher: Government of Alberta
ISBN: 9780778590033
Category : Electronic books
Languages : en
Pages : 87
Book Description
Alberta Environment (AENV) carried out a number of in-house computer model exercises in 2009 and early 2010 to support the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan (SSRP). The Environmental Modeling Team of Regional Environmental Management in the Southern Region conducted the modeling work. This report describes the water modelling work undertaken by AENV and summarizes the results generated by the models. The models used by the team fall into two main categories of Water Allocation and Water Quality. Simulation runs were completed for the SSRP scenarios of Base Case, Stewardship and Development. Background information on the models used and key messages as a result of the model work are included. In addition, other on-going modelling activities and future directions as related to the SSRP are described.--Document.

North Saskatchewan River Water Quality Model
Author: Darcy McDonald
Publisher:
ISBN: 9780778587941
Category : North Saskatchewan River (Alta. and Sask.)
Languages : en
Pages : 155
Book Description
This report documents the configuration, calibration and validation of an in-stream water quality model for the mainstem of the North Saskatchewan River from Devon to 38 kilometers downstream of the Alberta-Saskatchewan Border. Hydrodynamics, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, organic carbon, nutrients, algal interactions, and other parameters were modelled under the influence of tributaries, municipal wastewater treatement plants, industrial facilities, combined sewer overflows, and storm water. As refinement of the model is an ongoing effort, this document is designed to allow information on model revisions to be included as additional updates are completed. A "Summary of Revisions" tracking table is provided as the beginning of the document to make the user aware of any changes to the document. Updates will be released as available.--Document.
