Madam Bhikaji Cama; a prominent personality of the Indian Nationalist Movement; was born on 24th September; 1861 in Bombay. She is known for her venture to hoist the Indian flag in a foreign land and announced it as ‘A flag of Independence’. She helped revolutionaries in every way whether with money; material or ideas. Seriously ill and paralyzed by a stroke; Madam Cama returned to India and at the age of 74; she breathed her last.
