My Senior Honors Recital consists of music for saxophone composed by Henri Eccles, Jeanine Rueff, Takashi Yoshimatsu, Jean-Baptiste Singelée, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Paul Bonneau. The recital was performed on alto and soprano saxophones, and the program consists of solo works along with a fugue by J.S. Bach arranged for saxophone quartet. Program notes were included to describe the circumstances surrounding the compositions as well as give brief biographical descriptions of the lesser known composers.

At 7:30 pm on the 5th of April, 2015, a saxophone recital was performed by the author in room 101 Recital Hall of the University of Florida Music Building. A variety of saxophone works from the late-twentieth and twenty-first centuries was presented. The program began with Paul Martin Zonn's concert fantasy Desmond Dream for alto saxophone and piano, followed by Katharina Rosenberger's La chasse adapted for two alto saxophones, Edison Denisov's Sonate for alto saxophone and piano, Niklas Breman's Dinkum Thinkum for soprano saxophone and electronics, and finally Dorothy Chang's New Stories for alto saxophone and piano. The composers featured on the program are of American, Swiss, Russian, Swedish, and Chinese heritage respectively and their music exhibits a wide gamut of musical and non-musical influences, ranging from science fiction literature and modern poetry to jazz, Chinese folk songs, and twelve-tone serialism. The common thread of inspiration for these works is the colorful voice of the saxophone. Each piece explores the extended range and techniques of the instrument, creating a contemporary soundscape that is characteristic of concert saxophone repertoire in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
