M The American silver, which compares favorably with the splendid group of pieces Offered by us in the Garvan sale, is a complete study in itself of the accomplishment of American silversmiths from' the earliest recorded period, the age Of the great New York and Boston craftsmen, to the begin ning of the nineteenth century.
