Wherever the pronoun he, him or his occurs in the following rules, the same shall be taken to apply to and include all genders, whether masculine, feminine or neuter, and whether singular or plural, as the case may require. Sec. 2. To entitle a party to apply for a writ of error he shall cause note of his intention to be made at the time of the ruling by the court; and he shall within three days thereafter present to the court a bill of exception properly prepared to present the ruling excepted to, and which bill of exception, if properly prepared, or after correction by the judge, shall be signed by the judge within two days from the date of the judgment or sentence imposed, and he shall file the same in the cause, immediately after signing the same.
