Issues of same-sex relationships and gay and lesbian rights are the subject of public and political controversy in many African societies today. "This volume captures the experiences of single women in Zimbabwe. It brings out the indigenous cultural socialisations that negatively impact on them. The vibrancy of Pentecostalism did not save them from stigma and negative perceptions but rather fuels their challenges and misery.
