Book Description
In this book, various antennae in plasmas, particle beam antennae, phase, group and ray velocity surfaces of various plasma modes, RF ray trajectories and wave fronts in inhomogeneous anisotropic plasmas, plasma waveguides, radiations in ion beams and plasma streams, and useful kinetic plasma dielectric tensor are illustrated with many interesting new phenomena in anisotropic plasmas. Many theoretical and experimental results are demonstrated with clearly understandable figures. In addition to these fields, the properties of superconducting plasmas are also presented. Results from radiation phenomena in various schemes are shown and they can be applied in many fields, e.g., space (plasma) sciences, artificial satellites in space, RF heatings of plasmas, and advanced processing plasmas. Fundamental anisotropic phenomena in anisotropic plasmas are also expected to be applicable in other anisotropic media such as anisotropic optical fibers.

Book Description
Nonlinearity is omnipresent in nature and in laboratory experiments. The nonlinear phenomena in the radiation from plasmas are fundamentally important because of the rich physics behind these phenomena. They are also practically important because the most informative way to study laboratory and astrophysical plasmas is by analysing their radiation. These nonlinear phenomena constitute the subject of this comprehensive book. First, the book covers various nonlinear phenomena occurring in plasmas containing quasimonochromic electric fields. Second, the book covers nonlinear phenomena manifesting in the Stark broadening of spectral lines by dynamic plasma electrons or ions. Many theoretical results presented in the book are counterintuitive, and are illustrated by numerous two-dimensional and three-dimensional plots. The book also describes various applications of the theoretical results for areas of diagnostics for laboratory and astrophysical plasmas.

Book Description
Interest in the problem of interaction between radiation and astrophysical plasmas arose decades ago. Initially, this was closely related to the discovery of radio emission from the Sun and Galaxy which alerted theoretical radio astronomers to the problem of the origin of extra-terrestrial radio emission. It has been found that the observed radio emission from cosmic sources is generated by virtue of the mechanisms which work mainly in plasma (an ionized gas). Recently, the theory of generation and propagation of radiation in astrophysical plasmas has outgrown its parent domain of theoretical radio astronomy and is being successfully applied to other fields, such as high-energy astrophysics. General results obtained in this field may also help to better understand the complicated phenomena in laboratory plasmas on the Earth. At the same time, analysis of interaction between radiation and astrophysical plasmas under extreme conditions (strong magnetic fields of white dwarfs and neutron stars or strong gravitational fields in the vicinity of black holes) stimulates the development of plasma physics as a whole. In fact, the physics of plasma under extreme conditions in space is a new branch of fundamental science. The monograph contains the description of physical processes involved in interaction between radiation and astrophysical plasmas. It comprises the reasonable minimum necessary for understanding the emission and propagation of electromagnetic waves in astrophysical plasmas; without this minimum one could not succeed in interpreting the results of a number of astronomical observations. Audience: This monograph will be useful for graduate and post-graduate students and young scientists as a textbook on plasma astrophysics and the issues of plasma physics dealing with radiation. At the same time, the book can be used by specialists on astrophysics, radio astronomy and plasma physics.

Book Description
A study of radiative-collisional phenomena in neutral and ionized gases, focusing on a "perturbed atom", i.e an atom under the influence of different perturbations in plasmas, namely by electrical and magnetic fields. The treatment covers fundamental aspects of modern physics, such as atomic quantum mechanics and quantum optics, radiation and collisional processes in plasmas and gases, nonlinear laser spectroscopy, and plasma diagnostics.
