Excerpt from Prospectus of the Great Western Iron Mining and Manufacturing Company: Incorporated Under the Laws of Utah, at Parowan City, September 9th, 1873 The General Superintendent shall reside at Iron City. Iron County. He shall receipt for and have charge of all the property belonging to the Company, and control and direct all labor and business of the Company, under direction of the Board of Directors. He shall make monthly returns to the Secretary of all persons employed by the Company, with the amount of their wages, and a statement of all expenditures, accompanying the same, with the necessary vouchers. He shall also render a similar statement of Iron, Coal and other ores extracted and forwarded, with manufactured material disposed of and on hand, and report the general condition of the entire work belonging to the Company. When funds are required he shall make requisition upon the Board of Directors therefor, stating the object for which said funds are needed. If approved, the moneys shall be transmitted to him in such manner as said Board shall direct. Or he may provide funds by the sale of Iron, Coal, or other property, as may be authorized by the Board of Directors.
