En el presente trabajo se presenta una propuesta de mejoramiento para la cadena logistica de Janssen S.A. para los repuestos de mayor demanda o rotacion. Las tareas logisticas que se desarrollan actualmente en la empresa, la ejecutan 3 departamentos: Departamento de Abastecimiento, Departamento de Importaciones y Departamento de Bodega. Para identificar las deficiencias del sistema logistico, se realizo un diagnostico en donde se describieron los procesos logisticos de la empresa, se especificaron las funciones que cumple el personal y se efectuaron encuestas a los Jefes de departamento de Abastecimiento, Importaciones y Bodega para identificar oportunidades de mejora. Del diagnostico efectuado se concluyo que es recomendable la utilizacion de nuevos metodos de pronostico, el calculo de tamano de loteo optimo mediante heuristica de silver-mean, fijar un punto de reorden, evaluar al proveedor y eliminar inventario de baja rotacion. Tambien se recomienda la utilizacion de scanner y codigo de barras, mejorar la planificacion de la bodega y despachos, mejorar la estructura organizacional de la empresa e incorporar indicadores de gestion para tener un mejor control."

Business Process Management (BPM) has been in existence for decades. It uses, complements, integrates and extends theories, methods and tools from other scientific disciplines like: strategic management, information technology, managerial accounting, operations management etc. During this period the main focus themes of researchers and professionals in BPM were: business process modeling, business process analysis, activity based costing, business process simulation, performance measurement, workflow management, the link between information technology and BPM for process automation etc. More recently the focus moved to subjects like Knowledge Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs), Process Intelligence (PI) and even Social Networks.
