All sections except the last include the important effects of temperature and specific conductivity, The section relating to direct-current railways is novel in the form of its tables, and the methods outlined in it have been found rapid and comprehensive, The alternating-current division presents a new and original method for the solution of these problems. It is the only method known to the author which determines the size of wire directly from the volt loss in the line, and it also possesses unique features of scope, accu racy and simplicity.
