Original World War II Army Air Corps manual to train pilots for the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. According the National Museum of the United States Air Force, "the Lightning performed many different missions during World War II, including dive bombing, level bombing, bombing through clouds, strafing, photo reconnaissance and long range escort.
