Excerpt from Philosophy of the Bible Vindicated Two things have long appeared certain to the Author first, that the science of Metaphysics is not so dry, ditfi cult, and obscure as it is generally thought: secondly, that the spread of irreligion is greatly facilitated by an almost general ignorance of the elementary principles of this science. The very mention of metaphysics sends a shudder through the frames of many persons.
