Book Description
The Louis Berger Group, Inc., has completed archaeological data recovery at Site 44CU122, the Brook Run Jasper Quarry, associated with the proposed improvements to U.S. Route 3 in Culpeper County, Virginia. The work was performed on behalf of the Virginia Department of Transportation as part of Project No. 0003-023-107, PE101/102; PPMS Nos: 14657 and 14658. The VDOT project involves the acquisition of new rights-of-way, the construction of two new lanes, stream channelization, and cutting and filling. The archaeological investigations were conducted in compliance with the State Environmental Review Process. VDOT has purchased the site and redesigned the roadway to preserve the unexcavated portions of the site within the Route 3 right-of-way.
