A list of knowledge expectations (descriptions of what you should know after reading the chapter) are given at the beginning of each chapter to guide you as you study. Individual knowledge expectations appear alongside relevant content throughout each chapter, which will help you focus on the information that is most likely to appear on the examination. Covers pesticide labels, worker safety (handlers and fieldworkers), how to mix and apply pesticides, calibration, the hazards of pesticide use including heat related illness, and pesticide emergencies. Presents an overview of integrated management principles An appendix includes sample training forms for pesticide handlers and fieldworkers.

Book Description
This manual is for agricultural pesticide applicators who wish to become certified as private applicators of restricted-use pesticides under the provisions of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. It is a supplement to the 1991 revision of the national "core" training manual "Applying Pesticides Correctly -- A Guide for Private and Commercial Applicators." This material has been taken from earlier editions of the national core training manuals, but has been updated and expanded to reflect changes in technology and to offer private applicators the depth of knowledge necessary to cope with the increasing complexity of pesticide use. Consists of 5 units, or modules, that include learning objectives and review Q and A.

Book Description
The need for current and better quality training materials was cited by both certification program instructors and coordinators. In recognition of these shortcomings, the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) funded a major project with Penn State University, The Ohio State University, and the National Safety Council to develop a National Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Program (NSTMOP). The result is the NSTMOP Student Manual. This manual, including the task sheets, is the primary curriculum resource developed and designed to be used in a variety of instructional settings. The task sheets are divided into 6 sections: introduction; safety basics; agricultural hazards; the tractor; connecting and using implements with the tractor; and material handling (skid steers, ATV, and utility vehicles). There are a total of 77 task sheets, 48 are identified as core topics. Also included are a skills and driving test layout map and evaluation forms.
