Book Description
The peaceful surface of the ocean does have curls inside. At times, even the wittiest people do not understand the need for their choices. Kaka-ho, a 60-year-old Indo-Chinese man, owns an antique shop. He is witty but alone, and his senses and vision work as any fine antiquarian. One day, he received a 1,200-year-old antique painting from a 19-year-old boy to sell in his shop, thinking that the price will change his fortune on auction. He was absolutely correct, the dead painting did change his fortune, but instead of getting an attractive price, he had to pay the dire cost of his wrong contemplation. Before he could understand anything, the painting played its game. What is the purpose of the painting? Read Tales of a Dead Painting to find out.

More recently having moved to Norfolk UK the study of Trance Mediumship with a group called The Spiritual Development School has brought about a more exciting form of art. This involves feeling a necessity to paint a portrait or picture, sometimes from long past. The research is usually on the internet and their story gives us an idea why they want to come through to us. Some pictures have carried a theme which has proved to be relevant to modern events. Tolerance Compassion Care for the Earth. She has been involved with Spiritual healing Groups since 1994, some of those involved with colour healing; there has also been a strong interest in Animal Communication and healing from a distance. Book Description
Overturning the long-held assumption that the Xuanhe Catalogue of Paintings was the work of the Northern Song emperor Huizong (r. 1100–1126), Amy McNair argues that it was compiled instead under the direction of Liang Shicheng. Liang, a high-ranking eunuch official who sought to raise his social status from that of despised menial to educated elite, had privileged access to the emperor and palace. McNair’s study, based on her translation and extensive analysis of the text of the Xuanhe Catalogue of Paintings, offers a definitive argument for the authorship of this major landmark in Chinese painting criticism and clarifies why and how it was compiled. The Painting Master’s Shame describes the remarkable circumstances of the period around 1120, when the catalogue was written. The political struggles over the New Policies, the promotion of the “scholar amateur” ideal in painting criticism and practice, and the rise of eunuch court officials as a powerful class converged to allow those officials the unprecedented opportunity to enhance their prestige through scholarly activities and politics. McNair analyzes the catalogue’s central polemical narrative—the humiliation of the high-ranking minister mistakenly called by the lowly title “Painting Master”—as the key to understanding Liang Shicheng’s methods and motives.
