Book Description
This report presents the results of an occupational survey of the Space Operations career ladder (AFS 20XX). The purpose of this study were to provide information for an update of the Undergraduate Space Training (UST) course training standards (CTS), to evaluate the need for educational and experience prerequisites, and to provide information on where to provide hands-on training. Survey results were based on the responses of 756 Space Operations personnel. Fourteen major jobs were identified in this study. Two were independent jobs (Manned Space FLight Officers and Trainers), and the remainder fell into either the Staff Personnel cluster or the Crew Activities cluster. Although administration, management, and command tasks predominated for all jobs, junior officers typically performed the bulk of the technical tasks.
